Traditional VS New Retorque Procedure

Traditional VS New Retorque Procedure

Previously, customers were expected to return to the nearest Trail Tire location after driving 100 kilometers to get their lug nuts retorqued. This can be time consuming and inconvenient.

Trail Tire Calgary locations have implemented a new and safe way to secure your lug nuts, eliminating the need to return for a retorque.

New Procedure:

  • When installing your tires and wheels, our technicians clean the contact points between the wheels and hub assembly and make sure they are clear of any oil and dirt.
  • Once this is complete, Trail Tire technicians will hand torque your wheels while the vehicle is in the shop. Once the vehicle leaves the shop, we torque your wheels to the manufacturer’s specifications with calibrated hand-torque wrenches in the parking lot.

Customers can feel secure in knowing that when they are given the keys to their vehicle, they do not need to be concerned about returning to the shop for a retorque.

Should you still come back to get a retorque? Although our new procedure is safe and you no longer are required to return for a retorque, you are more than welcome to visit any of our Trail Tire locations to do an additional retorque.

IMPORTANT: CURRENTLY ONLY THE 6 CALGARY LOCATIONS ARE USING THESE NEW PROCEDURES.  IF HAVING TIRE WORK DONE AT ANY OF OUR OTHER LOCATIONS ACROSS WESTERN CANADA, PLEASE FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS OF RETURNING BACK FOR RETORQUING.
